Abstract art is intriguing to me because of its look, its energy, and its openness to interpretation. To me, painting abstract expressionism is similar to getting a room filled with people from different dialects to understand a common language. My paintings juxtapose soft colors with raw gestural markings as well as bold colors and textures against a more muted background. With every layer, mark, and use of texture, they are a visual dance on canvas, with the ultimate goal of having these things create a harmony that is balanced, flows, and tells a story unique to each viewer.
